The beach of Piscinas, along the shore of the Costa Verde, is surrounded for a few kilometres by high dunes (among the highest in Europe), unspoilt and unique as few other places. Whipped by the mistral, with its prostrate shrubs and dotted with appearing’s of mining archaeology, it gives us scents of flowers, aromatic essences and the changing colour spots typical of the most manicured botanical gardens. The dune fields of Piscinas, will be an experience hardly repeatable elsewhere, whose yellow ochre is interrupted, at times, by sharp bushes of esparto, the thorny carrot, the sea lily and, inland, from junipers and old olive trees that become small groves. In certain periods you can see the deer that goes to the sea and in June, the sea turtles that lay their eggs.
The beach of Piscinas is connected with the Montevecchio Mine through a picturesque and quick (about 30 min. drive) that will show you beautiful views, luxuriant woods, the beautiful Mines of Ingurtosu and the pretty village of Arbus as you can see on the map below.
