The mountain village, from Piazza Rolandi to the tree-lined avenue, offers a large and charming space to stop the camper, without any prohibition to do so. The location is sheltered and safe even to spend the night (many houses are inhabited all year and overlooks the Caserma dei Carabinieri, local Police). The context is fascinating and full of history, surrounded by a luxuriant nature that offers unique scents and atmospheres, with magnificent examples of Sardinian deer that, not infrequently, walk through the houses.
On the square there is also the InfoPoint of Miniera Montevecchio (always open at least on Saturdays and Sundays and available on request during the week).
The Visitor Centre offers additional services for parking (large air-conditioned rooms with material and information on the territory, video projections, Internet access, toilets, etc.). It also houses the Montevecchio Shop, where you can see and buy objects of local craftsmen, including: baskets, jewellery, knives, scented soaps, typical gadgets and children’s gadgets, etc.. Some of the artisan workshops are in the village and you can see them at work, others are not far away.
